The Nursery is a flexible community space that supports cultural programming year‑round. In summer, it functions as a lush courtyard for performances and socializing; in winter, it transforms into a passively heated greenhouse, protecting the venue’s extensive plant collection.
Each of its four sides is designed for a distinct purpose—from an acoustically tuned wall that doubles as seating and planters, to braced structures that shelter equipment and amenities.
Materials are lightweight, durable, and chosen for their ability to be dismantled, reused, and recycled, aligning with a zero‑waste philosophy.
The integration of hardy, evergreen plantings and a central conifer creates shade, improves air quality, and offers a sensory connection to nature, while also withstanding the rigors of an active urban venue.
